Opossum Earrings

I’ve dabbled with beading over the last year or so. It’s been fun to make simple jewelry- bracelets, necklaces, anklets. The tools have even allowed me to make simple repairs on jewelry I already own.

These are some of the things I’ve made.

Recently, I found some earring hooks and wanted to try my hand. I opted for something familiar for this new setting; so cute!

Intially, I tried to make them with fishing line, but I quickly found that a) I had too much tension on the cord, causing the whole thing to crimp up, and b) I definitely needed some sort of cord. I redid them, and it was so worth it. You can see the difference in the two, the left is the cord and right is the fishing line.

Would love to try some block beading in the future! People are so creative. Honestly, it would be a shame to lose social media just on the premise that artists would lose resources and sources of inspiration.

Until next time!
